Suntur

Suntur is a Thai artist of spare landscapes, where a small human figure and an expansive sky make distance an emotional part of the image.

More about Suntur

Towards a quiet landscape

Suntur is a Thai artist and a graduate of Silpakorn University. His exhibition history includes Picnic With Suntur in Hong Kong, Zero Decibel in Bangkok and A Little Letter from Someone Somewhere. The titles suggest an interest in memory, stillness and the personal experience of space rather than a detailed record of a location.

Scale, colour and a pause

People often occupy a very small part of Suntur’s landscapes. That difference in scale makes nature tangible: a horizon, a band of light, the sky’s colour and the distance between a figure and the background all matter. Open space does not feel empty. It allows a slower encounter with the work and attention to shifts of mood within simple colour relationships.

Landscape prints at ArtComburo

Camping in the Nature can be compared with High in Mountains and the nocturnal Gazing at the Northern Lights. Different horizons change the sense of human presence. The collaboration with Gongkan connects this spare space with a surreal portal. Technique, paper and presentation are described separately for each print; a restrained visual language does not make individual editions interchangeable.
