More about ZABUSA
Name and exhibition practice
ZABUSA is the name used by Indonesian artist Erza Budi Faisal, born in Bantul, Yogyakarta, in 1989. His exhibition history includes Dreaming at Tujuh Bintang Art Space and JogjaHits in Yogyakarta. The artist’s figurative imagery connects clear colour-led drawing with an invented world of characters.
Feeling without conventional expressions
In the paintings shown at ArtComburo, rounded figures do not depend on detailed faces. Mood comes through a tilted head, a hand gesture, the distance between characters and contrasting colours. Plants, machines and birds create surroundings that suggest an adventure or a game. Behind the light forms, a viewer may recognise ideas of coexistence, kindness and trust in a personal journey.
Canvases at ArtComburo
We Want to Be Kind Every Day gathers many figures into a broad space. Stay Patient and Trust Your Journey introduces travel, while a smaller painting with a globe focuses attention on the relationships between details. ArtComburo proposed the descriptive title Our Shared Home for the latter; its original title has not been confirmed. Dimensions and framing information belong to each individual canvas.
