Jeff Koons

Jeff Koons and Balloon Dog

The American artist Jeff Koons is known for works including Rabbit, Puppy and Balloon Dog. He gives everyday imagery a new scale and material presence. A familiar outline draws the viewer in, then reflections and surfaces change the way the object is experienced.

Balloon Dog belongs to the Celebration series. The Lexon objects in this collection adapt that motif to everyday functions. They are distinct editions, rather than the artist’s monumental museum sculptures.

The collaboration with Lexon and The Broad

The collaboration marks The Broad’s tenth anniversary in 2025. Lexon brings technology to the sculptural image in two forms: the Balloon Dog Speaker and the Balloon Dog Lamp. Each retains the same recognisable silhouette but offers a different interaction with its surroundings.

Choosing light or sound

The Speaker combines a transparent body with Bluetooth audio. Its visible speakers form part of the composition, rewarding a view from the side as well as the front. The Lamp explores light and colour as a sculptural accent.
