Harif Guzman
Harif Guzman works at the intersection of street art, pop art and skate culture. His collaboration with TUD brings that visual language to Quackulla and Duckulla, two collectible sculptures in different scales.
More about Harif Guzman
Venezuela and New York
Born in Venezuela in 1975, Guzman developed his practice in the world of skate culture and began working as an artist in the 1990s. He returned to New York in 2000. Moving between places and experiencing urban life became part of his artistic vocabulary.
Street art, collage and Haculla
Guzman works with painting, photography, collage, assemblage and sculpture. Found materials and humour help transform everyday images into expressive compositions. Haculla connects his street practice with canvas and clothing design.
Quackulla and Duckulla
In collaboration with TUD — The Ugly Duck, the artist transfers his imagery to collectible sculpture. Quackulla is 60 cm tall and Duckulla is 90 cm tall, offering two scales of the same collaboration.
Height is only part of the decision. Consider width, depth and the space around the silhouette. The larger figure can stand as an independent interior accent; the smaller version is easier to place alongside other objects.
