Jon Burgerman 400%

MEGA SPACE MOLLY Jon Burgerman 400% is an artistic POP MART collaboration that combines Kenny Wong’s space-themed character with Jon Burgerman’s playful visual language. In this interpretation, the spacesuit becomes more than technical clothing: its colours and treatment turn it into an expressive part of the design.

A collaboration with Jon Burgerman

Burgerman is known for spontaneous drawing and characters with distinct personalities. His practice spans painting, murals, objects and large public projects. Moving into collectible figures continues his work with character, using MOLLY’s rounded volumes in place of paper or a wall.

Kenny Wong created MOLLY, while Jon Burgerman developed the artistic interpretation for this POP MART release. The astronaut’s familiar face remains a recognisable point among the colourful accents. The character retains her own personality while entering the artist’s playful world.

A fluffy pink helmet with red ears, a blue collar and pink boots contrast with the transparent body. Colourful soft balls are visible inside, with a funny face on the front panel. Lowering the visor turns the head into a smiling pink dog; raising it reveals MOLLY’s face again.

The character within the collection

MOLLY first appeared in the work of Hong Kong artist Kenny Wong in 2006. The spacesuit preserves her recognisable expression, while artistic releases make it possible to compare approaches to colour, texture and graphics on the same underlying form.
