TIME OFF Pink

TIME OFF Pink is a collectible vinyl KAWS figure featuring BFF lying on its side, supported on an elbow. The other arm rests freely on the body, legs extend and the head turns towards the viewer. The title suggests time to rest: the artist presents a pause rather than action. The pose conveys the familiar wish to set tasks aside for a while.

The TIME OFF release history

TIME OFF figures appeared on KAWSONE on 14 February 2023 in Blue, Pink and Black. Later that month, MEDICOM TOY began sales in its Japanese stores. The release features BFF, a character with rounded ears, large cross-shaped eyes and a fur-like sculpted surface. Vinyl gives this texture a solid sculptural form.

Colour and details of Pink

Pink combines a pink body with white eyes, pink crosses and a pale nose. The gentle palette reinforces BFF’s relaxed pose, while the distinct sculpted texture keeps the figure visible against a light background. Different viewpoints change the relationship between rounded head, bent arm and extended legs. Pink can become a colour accent on a shelf or continue a BFF collection in related shades.

TIME OFF in KAWS’s practice

In spring 2023, TIME OFF was also the title of KAWS’s exhibition at Skarstedt Paris, running from 17 March to 22 April. The gallery described it as a reflection on the passage of time. This was a separate exhibition following the figures’ February release. At a domestic scale, reclining BFF offers a simple image of rest whose mood can be understood without knowing the artist’s whole history.

Collecting and gifting

TIME OFF Pink can complement an art-toy collection or become a standalone contemporary-art object within an interior. It can be a gift for someone who enjoys KAWS’s characters, pop culture and designer objects. The reclining pose distinguishes it from vertical figures and requires a horizontal surface. Leave space around BFF so the arm gesture, extended legs and textured back remain visible.
