About the work Seesaw — variant 2
Seesaw — variant 2 is a Young-Ji Cha giclée print. A blue-clad character is raised on the other end of a seesaw. The green landscape, a small black figure and coloured symbols sustain a sense of unstable balance.
Seesaw refers to an up-and-down movement. In the exhibition bearing this name, the artist addressed personal highs and lows through characters and motifs associated with Korean stories. This card presents a printed edition; the medium and dimensions of the original painted diptych should not be transferred to the print.

The artist and the work
Young-Ji Cha was born in Seoul and works with imagery between reality and fantasy. Her Seesaw solo exhibition at Thinkspace ran from 5 to 26 March 2022. That context helps explain the balance motif but does not by itself establish the production year of this particular print.
