More about Poorboy

The artist and the character

Poorboy is associated with Thai artist Kasemwit Chaweewat, also known as Ton. His furry character connects adventure and skating with an attention to nature. Paintings, paper editions and sculptural works meet in the practice: the figure can stay recognisable while its material and physical presence change.

Humour, nature and movement

An approachable cartoon form makes room for care without a heavy moralising tone. Nature became a prominent part of the artist’s world in Welcome to the Jungle, while Hit the Road at Trendy Gallery in 2025 focused on roads, vehicles and travel stories. In an interview, the artist connected these motifs with personal journeys and skating with friends.

Works at ArtComburo

Grind or Die brings a skating figure, a board and dense graphic details into a fine-art print. Comparing it with sculptural characters reveals how the same world operates at different scales. Prints, paintings and art toys are nevertheless distinct objects: technique, edition, material and presentation belong to the individual product page. This selection follows the artist’s practice rather than unrelated brands sharing the name.
