About Javier Calleja Mickey Mouse
Javier Calleja Mickey Mouse is an artist-led interpretation of Disney’s character on MEDICOM TOY’s BE@RBRICK 1000% platform. Enlarged eyes alter the expression while the familiar costume colours preserve a connection to classic Mickey. MEDICOM TOY announced this edition for November 2021 as a 2G EXCLUSIVE. The gaze makes it distinct from a standard character-colour release.
Participants and concept
Javier Calleja is a Spanish artist from Málaga working across drawing, painting and sculpture. His characters often establish an emotional connection through disproportionately large eyes. That is his contribution here: Disney provides Mickey’s identity, Calleja contributes an artistic reading, and MEDICOM TOY supplies the BE@RBRICK form and production.
