Saru

Saru is an art toy by Arkiv Vilmansa that combines cartoon imagery with sculptural form. A large head, flowing volumes and contrasts between dark and pale details give the character its own personality. View it from several sides: silhouette and proportions define the work’s expression.

Saru in Arkiv Vilmansa’s practice

The artist works with painting, prints and sculpture, maintaining an interest in characters and organic forms. Saru demonstrates how this language works in a three-dimensional object: lines, volumes and colour relationships hold attention rather than a complicated narrative.
