About Mickey Mouse NOW AND FUTURE
Mickey Mouse NOW AND FUTURE is a collectible sofubi figure by Hajime Sorayama, made in Mixed Media as specified in the official announcement. Silver-coloured and gold-coloured finishes transform the familiar Disney character into a robot: rounded ears and gloves remain recognisable, while joints and mirrored highlights add a futuristic identity.
The edition was presented in connection with Mickey Mouse Now and Future at PARCO MUSEUM TOKYO in Shibuya, held from 19 November to 19 December 2021. PARCO organised the project, curated by NANZUKA with the support of Walt Disney Japan. Applications to purchase the sofubi edition were accepted in November 2021; shipping was planned for April 2022.
