Andy’s Cactus Green

Andy’s Cactus Green is a green-and-black Gufram edition created in 2025 with the Andy Warhol Foundation. The series combines the iconic Cactus form with the colours and aesthetic of Andy Warhol’s late 1986 silkscreen self-portraits, known for the “fright wig” image. A green background and dark relief give the object a strong graphic identity.

Form, material and concept

Guido Drocco and Franco Mello created the original Cactus design in 1972. Andy Warhol did not design this coat rack: the contemporary edition is a collaboration between Gufram and the artist’s foundation. Italian radical design meets pop art’s visual language while the original designers retain their authorship.

Orange, Green and White continue Gufram’s collaboration with The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, which began in 2022 with Blue, Pink and Yellow. The new colours appeared in 2025 as separate editions of 99 each and should be distinguished from the earlier palette.

The 2025 release is limited to 99 examples of each colour. Green can be collected alone or compared with the other versions in this series. It is a prominent sculpture that also functions as a coat rack; as a gift for an art enthusiast, it offers a specific collaboration history. Edition size describes the release without confirming any individual example’s number.
