About the work The Head
The Head is a collectible Javier Calleja poster. Several heads are stacked into a vertical image. Different facial expressions and colours create a playful balance, while large eyes remain a recognisable Calleja feature.
Drawing takes precedence over a complex setting. The familiar character becomes a companion: a slight change in the eyes or proportions alters its mood. The wooden frame in the photograph creates a separate boundary between the image and the wall.
