Let Us Devote Our Hearts

Let Us Devote Our Hearts is an offset print by Takashi Murakami featuring a red and pink sphere of smiling flowers. The artist creates a sense of volume on a flat surface: central flowers appear larger, while those near the edge seem to wrap around a sphere.

A flower sphere in red tones

Red and saturated pink establish the palette. Yellow, blue, green and purple smiles add small contrasting accents. Black outlines separate each flower, keeping even the densely filled composition legible.

Within the Flowerball composition, familiar flower faces become parts of one sphere. From a distance its convex shape emerges; close up, differences appear in coloured centres, smiles and petals. Changes in scale and distortions near the edge create volume on the print’s flat surface.
