About the work Rhythms of the Primordial World*
Rhythms of the Primordial World is ArtComburo’s descriptive title for this acrylic painting by Popkapi. The square composition brings together large eyes, curving lines and yellow, pink, blue and green planes. It is a painting on canvas, rather than a reproduction or an editioned print.
Black and white outlines hold the image together while smaller marks disturb the first impression of a single face. There is no fixed story to solve: the arrangement leaves room to notice unexpected connections between colour, character and gesture. The catalogue title is not a verified original title.
