Popeye / Retro 90th

Popeye / Large Edition Popeye / Retro 90th is a collectible object in the ArtComburo Characters selection. A sailor cap, pipe and powerful forearms preserve Popeye’s retro character at a large scale.

Enlarged forearms and the recognisable profile convey the sailor’s character without elaborate staging. This is the retro version of the 90th Anniversary line, distinct from the smaller Retro 60s series.

About the series

ZCWO translates characters from the world of Popeye from animation into collectible figures. Distinctive proportions are central: the sailor’s powerful arms, Olive’s narrow outline and Brutus’s broad build establish different personalities before the smaller details are considered. The characters can be viewed individually or as a group in which each makes the others more recognisable.
