About Sesame Street Big Bird
Sesame Street Big Bird — Big Bird is Sesame Street’s yellow character interpreted in vinyl by KAWS. A long neck, large beak, sculpted feathers and orange legs with pink stripes keep him recognisable. The head is slightly bowed; cross-shaped eyes and details at its sides add the artist’s visual language.
Who is Big Bird?
Big Bird is Sesame Street’s large yellow bird: curious, friendly and eager to meet others and understand the world with his friends. He embodies childhood curiosity through questions, openness and a desire to learn. KAWS retains that personality while a restrained pose reveals a different mood.
The KAWS × Sesame Street collaboration
In 2025, KAWS and AllRightsReserved presented a vinyl collection of Sesame Street characters. It combined familiar images with the artist’s cross-shaped eyes and sculptural gestures. This release continues his work with Sesame Street but differs from UNIQLO’s clothing and plush toys of 2018: here, the characters are made in vinyl.
Features of the composition
Unlike reclining Elmo, Big Bird stands with wings and head lowered. Sculpted feathers continue over neck and body, creating small shadows. Cross-shaped eyes become part of the face, while rounded details at the sides of the head make KAWS’s transformation especially visible. The yellow body and pink and orange legs create a bright accent even as the gesture remains quiet and inward-looking.

Collecting and gifting
Sesame Street Big Bird can join a KAWS collection or be a gift for someone with a personal connection to Sesame Street. Nostalgia combines with a new perspective on a familiar character. Before choosing, examine the different viewpoints: these show pose, texture and proportions more precisely than one front photograph. Leave space around the work on an open shelf so its gesture and details remain visible.
