Squid Game 400%

MEGA SPACE MOLLY Squid Game 400% is a POP MART art toy combining space-themed MOLLY with Young-hee from the Netflix series Squid Game. The yellow-and-orange costume recalls her outfit, while two pigtails sit within transparent side sections of the helmet. Dark hair, pale gloves and black shoes complete the distinctive silhouette.

The central idea is the translation of a familiar character into a different form. Young-hee is recognisable through colour and hairstyle, yet the face remains MOLLY’s, with large eyes and pursed lips. Transparent tubes and a rounded visor identify the outfit as a spacesuit rather than a direct copy of the doll from the series.

The Young-hee design

Young-hee is associated with Red Light, Green Light, one of Squid Game’s best-known scenes. Netflix describes her as a giant mechanical doll with pigtails that determines when participants must stop. This collectible interpretation retains the most recognisable visual features: a straight fringe, pigtails and warm-coloured clothing contrasting with dark hair.

Kenny Wong created MOLLY, Netflix contributes the world and character motifs of Squid Game, and POP MART produces the collectible interpretation. Its yellow-and-orange palette stands out alongside metallic and monochrome releases in the series.

The artist and the MEGA SPACE MOLLY line

Hong Kong artist and designer Kenny Wong created MOLLY in 2006. Large eyes, short hair and distinctively pursed lips keep her recognisable across different costumes. MEGA SPACE MOLLY gives the character an astronaut’s form: a rounded helmet, gloves and spacesuit components become the foundation for new designs.
