HOLIDAY HANGZHOU Black

HOLIDAY HANGZHOU Black is a collectible vinyl KAWS figure in which COMPANION takes the form of a robot. It stands with its arms lowered; rounded head details, large feet and X eyes retain the character’s identity. At the same time, a helmet, chest panel, sculpted joints and mechanical body details create a new futuristic appearance. It is an artistic interpretation of a robot in art-toy form.

KAWS:HOLIDAY beside West Lake

In September 2026, KAWS and AllRightsReserved presented HOLIDAY HANGZHOU beside West Lake in Hangzhou, China. With local partner WESTLAKE 66, they placed a 30-metre reclining robot COMPANION at the site. The project marked the Mid-Autumn Festival: the character’s upward gaze echoed the tradition of moon viewing. The lake’s classical landscape became the backdrop for a new futuristic figure.

Features of the edition

In Black, the matte palette unites the figure in a single silhouette. Small chest, arm and leg details emerge through relief and light on the surface. The rear reveals a body panel; a close-up shows the X eyes and helmet shape. This version suits a collection in which sculptural form takes the leading role.
