About the work Ingrid
Ingrid is an offset poster after a work by Jason Boyd Kinsella. The portrait is constructed from geometric volumes: angular planes form the head and body, while small coloured elements give the image individuality. It is a way of describing character through form rather than anatomical portraiture.
Publisher Perrotin dates the image to 2023 and the poster production to 2024. The edition accompanied Emotional Moonscapes in New York, held from 24 February to 6 April 2024. The printed format should not be confused with the artist’s original painting or sculpture.

The artist and the work
Jason Boyd Kinsella breaks the human figure into simplified volumes and assembles them into new portrait structures. Familiar human cues remain, while their proportions determine the composition’s particular rhythm.
