About MONSTERS Franken Berry
MONSTERS Franken Berry is a vinyl KAWS art toy from his collaboration with General Mills. Pink Franken Berry has cross-shaped eyes and substantial red feet. The General Mills strawberry-cereal character becomes a vinyl KAWS interpretation. This card presents one character, available to choose individually or combine with other figures in the series.
Who is Franken Berry?
Franken Berry is the pink character of General Mills’ strawberry cereal, introduced in 1971. His image reimagines Frankenstein’s monster as a friendly advertising character. KAWS retains the distinctive palette and turns him into a collectible figure.
How cereal characters became art toys
In 2022, General Mills invited KAWS to design Monster Cereals packaging. The artist reinterpreted familiar advertising characters through his own visual language. Large vinyl versions appeared in March 2024, with MEDICOM TOY announcing Japanese sales from 23 March. This continues the brand collaboration rather than commemorating a separate KAWS installation: a familiar cereal-box image gained volume and became a collectible object.
The figure’s image and details
A broad torso, large red feet and white gloves make the figure resemble a cereal-box character brought to life. Forms at the sides of the head recall Frankenstein’s monster, while cross-shaped eyes connect him with other KAWS works. The pink version makes the contrast between the pale body and saturated red details especially clear.

Collecting and gifting
MONSTERS combines contemporary art, design and nostalgia for advertising characters. Franken Berry can sit on an open shelf where the silhouette and colour accents remain visible. The character’s story matters when choosing a gift: it suits someone interested in KAWS, pop culture or unusual collaborations. Beside other characters, viewers can compare how the artist handles different forms while retaining shared recognisable details.
