Blanky Janky

Blanky Janky is a pale monochrome Superplastic figure that brings the character’s form to the foreground. There is no colourful outfit or expressive face graphic. Cat ears, a rounded head, short arms and large feet create a recognisable silhouette without additional details.

The absence of painted decoration offers another perspective on the Janky platform. Proportions hold attention instead of a scene or expression: a large head balances broad feet, while a compact body emphasises the figure’s sculptural character.

The pale surface changes noticeably with the light. Soft side lighting emphasises the head and ears; against an even background the figure reads almost as a graphic symbol. This version can be left unchanged, using its restraint within a composition.

Janky and designer-figure culture

Superplastic develops its characters through animation, collectible objects and creative collaborations. Janky is a central figure in this universe. Blanky reveals its underlying form, which gains new faces, clothing and accessories in coloured releases.
