TOKYO FIRST Accomplice Black Keychain

TOKYO FIRST Accomplice Black Keychain is a collectible KAWS keyholder from the commemorative series for TOKYO FIRST. A metal fitting allows the miniature to be used on keys or a bag. Black ACCOMPLICE with long ears in keyholder form. A monochrome version of the KAWS TOKYO FIRST accessory.

Character and form

In the black ACCOMPLICE version, attention moves from colour to form. Long ears, an elongated body and large feet create a distinctive silhouette. X eyes and side elements on the head retain KAWS’s recognisable touch; on the dark body, they emerge through relief.

The connection to KAWS TOKYO FIRST

KAWS TOKYO FIRST ran at Mori Arts Center Gallery in Tokyo from 16 July to 11 October 2021. MEDICOM TOY released commemorative keyholders presented in the exhibition shop. COMPANION, ACCOMPLICE and CHUM offered a choice of characters in miniature form.

An exhibition object in an everyday format

The keyholder preserves not only the event’s name but also a specific character. It can travel with you or sit among small collectibles. Each character has different proportions: ACCOMPLICE’s long ears, CHUM’s segments and COMPANION’s gloves allow comparisons of the artist’s sculptural language. This listing presents one keyholder, not a set of the entire series.

For a collection or a gift

A small keyholder can be a gift for someone who already collects KAWS or has a favourite character. The choice lies in the specific figure and its connection to the exhibition. Pink or black ACCOMPLICE, transparent or white CHUM create different impressions even through similar silhouettes.
