About Maneki Neko Good Luck Silver × Gold
Maneki Neko Good Luck Silver × Gold is a MEDICOM TOY BE@RBRICK 1000% based on Japan’s beckoning cat. Silver- and gold-coloured treatments combine in one figure with symbolic inscriptions. The design transfers a traditional decorative motif onto the bear platform. The official release was announced for September 2022 at MEDICOM TOY Tokyo Solamachi. It is distinct from versions with reversed metal-colour arrangements.
Participants and concept
Maneki-neko is a traditional beckoning-cat image found throughout Japanese decorative culture. MEDICOM TOY works with this cultural motif on its platform. Good Luck and Senmanryo belong to the symbolism of luck and prosperity; the interest of the object lies in that visual language and the contrasting finishes.
