Blue

Garfield Blue combines a blue palette, a raised paw and Garfield’s familiar sleepy expression. A bubble beside the face adds another rounded form to the silhouette and reinforces the character’s laid-back comic personality.

Garfield is the comic character created by Jim Davis. ZCWO combines his expression and rounded proportions with a maneki-neko pose, keeping the character recognisable even in an unfamiliar palette.

Garfield was created by American cartoonist Jim Davis, and the comic has been published since 1978. In this collectible direction, ZCWO translates the character from a flat drawing into a three-dimensional form while preserving his recognisable expression. The maneki-neko pose introduces another cultural association, but the object remains a Garfield interpretation rather than a traditional figurine promising good fortune. In Blue, the contrast between the sleepy expression and an unfamiliar colour reinforces this approach.
