Purple

Garfield Purple combines a deep-purple body with a transparent bubble beside the face. The bubble introduces a different surface against the solid-coloured figure, while the narrowed eyes preserve Garfield’s relaxed expression.

Garfield is the comic character created by Jim Davis. ZCWO combines his expression and rounded proportions with a maneki-neko pose, keeping the character recognisable even in an unfamiliar palette.

Garfield was created by American cartoonist Jim Davis, and the comic has been published since 1978. In this collectible direction, ZCWO translates the character from a flat drawing into a three-dimensional form while preserving his recognisable expression. The maneki-neko pose introduces another cultural association, but the object remains a Garfield interpretation rather than a traditional figurine promising good fortune. In Purple, the rounded form and bubble maintain the character’s informal mood despite the saturated palette.
