About the work Leave It Behind
Leave It Behind is a print by Gongkan on Fabriano Artistico cotton paper. An elongated figure passes through two dark openings as if crossing a distance without moving along the ground. The blue background and smooth contours reinforce the suspended pose.
The horizontal composition draws the eye along the arms and legs. The portals divide the body while also creating its route. The title can suggest leaving the past behind, but the image keeps that possibility open rather than imposing a single story.
