Another White Cactus

Another White Cactus is a light-coloured version of Gufram’s sculptural Cactus coat rack, presented in 2018. Its natural ivory shade recalls unprepared artist’s canvas. It is not a separate “beige” Cactus: the edition’s original name is Another White Cactus.

Form, material and concept

Guido Drocco and Franco Mello created the original design in 1972. They gave an everyday coat rack the image of a large plant with a textured surface. In the pale version, colour does not compete with the silhouette: shadows between nodes, rounded branches and sculptural form come forward. Soft polyurethane and hand-applied Guflac® preserve Gufram’s characteristic interplay between appearance and touch.

Collecting and interior display

Choose Another White for a light interior where objects are distinguished by texture and shape. It works both as a standalone sculpture and a functional coat rack. For a contemporary-design collection it is a recognisable Drocco/Mello object; as a gift, it offers a clear design history without requiring a bright palette.
