About the work Black Cat
Black Cat is a collectible Javier Calleja poster. A black cat with large eyes and a long tail looks directly at the viewer. A restrained background focuses attention on fine lines and the almost human expression.
Drawing takes precedence over a complex setting. The familiar character becomes a companion: a slight change in the eyes or proportions alters its mood. The wooden frame in the photograph creates a separate boundary between the image and the wall.
