Balloon Dog Lamp

Balloon Dog Lamp is a rechargeable lamp by Jeff Koons × Lexon × The Broad with a transparent optical-grade polycarbonate body. The rounded forms reveal the lighting structure: the familiar silhouette remains while colour changes its appearance. The lamp acts as a sculptural accent and a source of atmospheric light.

The form rests on a contrast: the light-hearted image of a balloon conceals a real technical system. Transparency reveals how the object is constructed and adds new details to a familiar image. It can be chosen for an interest in the artist, its function or its place within a collection.

Light and controls

The lamp has nine LED colours, nine light animations and brightness adjustable up to 200 lumens. Turning the nose changes light intensity; pressing it selects a colour or effect. Controls are integrated into the image without disturbing its silhouette.

Easy Sync technology synchronises the colour and brightness of several Balloon Dog Lamps. The battery provides up to five hours of use at 75% brightness, with charging via USB-C. Actual battery life depends on the selected mode.

Jeff Koons, Lexon and The Broad

Jeff Koons is an American artist who works with familiar images from popular culture and everyday objects. Balloon Dog resembles a dog made from balloons: a simple gesture becomes a sculptural image. This collaboration brings his visual language together with product design by the French brand Lexon.

The project was created for the tenth anniversary of The Broad in Los Angeles; the lamp and speaker were presented at the museum in September 2025. These are functional objects inspired by Balloon Dog rather than miniature steel originals of the museum sculpture. The transparent casing makes the technical construction part of the visual experience.
