After the Storm

After the Storm is a print by Songsin T. showing a weathered upright piano and stool on a quiet seashore. A dark, long-eared cat stands on the instrument. A fallen tree lies to the left and a small branch emerges from the sand to the right; behind them stretch a low horizon and a cloudy blue-grey sky.

The scene suggests the stillness that follows unsettled weather. A piano, a domestic object placed in an unfamiliar open landscape, turns the shore into a setting for an untold story. The small character on top provides a living centre, while soft colours connect sea, sand and sky. This is a reading of the composition rather than a statement of the artist’s intended meaning.
