Louis De Guzman 400%

MEGA SPACE MOLLY Louis De Guzman 400% is a collectible POP MART art toy in which Kenny Wong’s character meets Louis De Guzman’s geometric abstraction. Transparent sections of the spacesuit reveal a composition of coloured shapes, while blue, pink and silver-coloured details connect it to the outer costume. The manufacturer lists PVC, ABS and PC for this 400% release.

The familiar MEGA SPACE MOLLY astronaut becomes a three-dimensional space for an abstract drawing. Angles, planes and contrasting inserts change the impression from different viewpoints: the front reveals MOLLY’s face, while side views highlight the helmet’s construction and the transparent body. The words Along The Way add the artist’s personal voice to the technical silhouette.

Louis De Guzman and the language of geometry

Louis De Guzman is a Filipino-American artist and designer. His practice explores geometric abstraction, combining personal experience with his family’s history of immigration. Fragmenting a familiar form allows him to present an image as a collection of connected parts. This collaboration brings that approach to a figure that can be explored from every side.

The contributors have distinct roles: Kenny Wong created MOLLY, Louis De Guzman shaped the visual language of this interpretation, and POP MART produces the collectible object. Learn more about the artist’s practice on his official website.

MOLLY in an art collection

This piece suits a collection built around artists’ interpretations of a single character. Its transparency and internal geometry stand out alongside graphic surface treatments. Compare it with MOLLY Gary Baseman, where Toby takes the leading role. Other releases are gathered in the MEGA SPACE MOLLY collection.
