BE@RBRICK BAPE Mickey Mouse Color Ver. keeps Mickey’s familiar face while introducing camouflage into his clothing. BAPE graphics appear on the red shorts and shoes, making the character recognisable both as a Disney figure and as part of a streetwear collaboration. Black ears and the pale face hold the composition together.
This MEDICOM TOY release brought A BATHING APE and Disney together in BAPE’s thirtieth-anniversary year and Disney’s centenary. The Japanese release followed in November 2023. Each participant has a distinct role: Disney supplies the character, BAPE contributes its clothing identity and camouflage, and MEDICOM TOY adapts the combination to BE@RBRICK.
The pair is interesting for collectors comparing different design interpretations of Mickey Mouse. Beside the blue fragmentdesign version, it demonstrates a more patterned, warmer approach to the same character.
