BE@RBRICK fragmentdesign Mickey Mouse Blue Ver. keeps Mickey’s recognisable ears, pale face and oversized buttons. Blue colour and a silver-toned shine replace the character’s familiar red-and-yellow palette. Fewer colours place greater emphasis on proportion and clean outlines.
fragmentdesign is Hiroshi Fujiwara’s design project. This collaboration brings its visual approach together with Disney’s character and MEDICOM TOY’s form. Blue Ver. was introduced for MEDICOM TOY EXHIBITION 2023, with a release in July that year.
The pair makes a useful comparison with BAPE Mickey Mouse: clothing, colour and surface produce different readings of the same character. Blue suits a quieter collection focused on subtle design changes. Two figure sizes allow that accent to be repeated at different points within a display.
